About Us

A Sweeter Song was founded by two teen girls, Tessa Hall (age 16) and Bethany Ellis (age 19). Their passion is to help girls live up to their full potential in Christ. After seeing so many young women struggling in their walk with Christ, Tessa approached Bethany with the idea to start an online community to help and encourage those who need it most–teen girls.

After talking a while and figuring out the main goals of the ministry, the girls decided on the name “A Sweeter Song,” which was inspired by the story written by Eric in “When God Writes Your Love Story,” by Eric and Leslie Ludy. The theme being that life doesn’t have just be “okay” –it can be “sweeter.”  And so, with a clear vision in mind, the two embarked on the exciting road of trusting Christ and launched this website.

Birthday: December 2

Favorite CD: “Something to Say” by Matthew West

Favorite Book: “Summer Promise” by Robin Jones Gunn

Favorite Bible Verse: I have two favorite verses. My first is:  “You who are young, make the most of your youth.  Relish your youthful vigor. Follow the impulses of your heart. If something looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; You have to answer to God for every last bit of it.” –Ecclesiastes 11:9. My other favorite verse is: “For everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.” -Ecclesiastes 3:1. (And since they both happen to be in Ecclesiastes, that is also my favorite book of the Bible.[:)

Favorite Quote: “Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

Hobbies: Writing and acting have always been my two absolute favorite hobbies. I also enjoy reading (mostly Christian fiction for young adults), watching movies, listening to music, photography, coffee (preferably mocha, and preferably from Starbucks :]), the beach, autumn/winter, etc.

Extras: As of last year I’ve been involved in an online school. Although I would love to go back to regular school, I’ve decided to spend my high school years pursuing writing and acting and getting to know Christ more :). I’m currently taking a course through Christian Writers Guild ( and love it! I hope to some day be a published fiction and nonfiction author for teens and young adults.
